Bunny Fun

Last week we had special guests from the Mayor's office stop by to celebrate the local Volunteers and had them read our children fun books on volunteering in the community. Grand is very lucky in the number of helpers and visitors we get to our school on a regular basis. This month we also had CNN come for a shooting of Blessing's in a Backpack with Justin and Kate Rose. The kids enjoyed their time with the volunteers!

After that, we started to prepare for Easter by creating this fun bulletin board "If I were the Easter Bunny".

I read my kids the story If I Were the Easter Bunny then had them do their own creative writing piece telling me what they would do if they were the easter bunny. I got some great responses! Here is a picture of the bulletin board before the writing was added! You can get the writing piece by clicking here :)

Next week we'll be creating "Main Idea" Rain Clouds for this "rainy season", although let's be real…Florida doesn't really have seasons. We'll read the story Let's Go to The Moon in Journey's (Houghton Mifflin Curriculum) then fill out the main idea of the story on the rain clouds putting supporting details on the rain drops from the text.
